Wow, amazing – this whole poem can be read on the little intro line on facebook! Not sure if that’s bad, or good.
its good! it only took “a minute” or less to read!
Thank you so much, Kricket. I know how valuable your time is, so I took that into consideration when I wrote this.
Besides, you have a LOT of preparation to do for our meeting!
I got so much from so few words
Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you, vixy. It means a lot coming from you. Greatly appreciated.
I am inspired to “keep it short – really short” now and then – good one!
Too bad I don’t do it more often, is what a lot of people are probably thinking! hehehe
Thanks for stopping by again. Love to see you here.
Eloquently said! Are you some kind of romantic guy, or what?
Thank you. Yes, I’m a hopeless romantic, for sure.
Analytically, is the 59 seconds the timeframe to accomplish ALL of those tasks, some of those tasks or one of those tasks? Because I think a 59 second hug might fit more on Edwin’s Awkward List.
Yeah, I thought it might not be clear enough. My thought was, what would you do with one minute left in your life? Too obscure, I’m afraid.
And yes, a 59 second hug would definitely be awkward!
This is so beautiful! The 59 second hug better be a bear hug!
Glad the words meant much to you. It would be a big hug wouldn’t it?
haha yes but hugs are always nice even the awkward ones!
Well, I love your idea, Mike- If it were the last 59 seconds of my life- I don’t think a 59 second hug would be awkward after all. I think it would be quite the way to go, actually.
Holding … so as not to let go.
It would be very difficult – that last hug, kiss, or tear.
Brilliant Michael, and touching. On a more humorous note, have you tried to do those seven things in 59 seconds? That is, right a note, make a phone call, pray, hug and kiss someone, and then laugh and cry with them? That’d be quite the emotional and multi-tasking roller coaster, and all under a minute!
Take care my friend!
Thank you Joe. Is it sexist to say that I think my wife has done all of these things in under a minute?? hehehe
Sorry, shouldn’t have gone there, but I did.
Got a minute – get inspired. Love it.
Thank you so much! Love having you on the blog!
I just did and it felt really good. Thanks for reminding me, my friend! Few words yet the content is like a universe. Good day!
Kind sir, I’m glad it spoke to you! Good to see you again, my friend. I need to come see you again as well.
I’ve spent a whole minute trying to figure out how you did this…………..awesome.
Thanks Andra. I try not to bore people with my
drivelpoetry too much. I like keeping in contact with people instead of losing them!I don’t have the nerve to write poetry, so I always admire people who do.
Writing it is easy. Now, whether it’s good or not, that’s a whole different issue! I’ve only put out two so far. And I’m not really sure if they’re good or not. Other people have to judge that since I’m not an educated poet or writer. Okay … I’m educated, but not in fine arts. Just self-taught, or auto-didactic (as Tricia Goff Driscoll says).
Wonderful! But you forgot “a click”
.
VERY good point!! How could I miss that? hehehe
What a beautiful poem. And so inspirational as we face a whole new year of possibilities, to mark it down into just one minute — makes it seem like anything is possible.
As another one of my blogging idols, this is a very special comment. Thank you so much, Melissa!
And thank you, for your own kind words!
that’s some special wordsmith talent you have there mj – so succinct and space saving too! I love the concept of doing something/anything with every minute, making them ALL count!
Reading your blog makes for some inspiring minutes! Every. Single. Time. Thank you!
Thanks Mel, means a lot to me! You are so kind. I will try not to let you down.
WOW ! You impressed me to no end !
I too believe in the concept of expressing in few words..
got so much from these few words !
Thank you, Kitty. I loved reading your blog as well. Thanks for stopping by.
So…Mr. Monaghan…my awesome neighbor to the west who writes kick-a$$ poetry as well as blog posts:
In case you haven’t heard, you have been nominated for the “Mikalee is a D*ck but You Are Not” Award! (Actually, I just wanted to thank you for my nomination and to help others connect with your awesome blog.)
So stop by for a visit if you get a chance, k?

XOXO,
Mikalee
You like the poetry?? Wow, thanks! I just made a comment that I don’t know if it’s any good or not, unless someone tells me.
And thank you so much for the nomination of the MIAD BYAN Award! That is very special.
I read the post. Awesome as usual. I’ll be commenting further over there.
You are too much, my high-altitude friend!
Lovely! I love stumbling upon poems as blog posts. They work well in this format.
Jeanette, I love your blog – the writing and your design. It’s so well-done. Look forward to reading it more. Thank you for the kind words about the poem. I don’t write poetry very often unless there is a really strong compulsion and this hit me really hard in the middle of the night.
Excellent thought, Michael. In this hectic world, if we paused to do any of those things, it would bring us many hours of smiles, reflective time and stressfree, happy moments.
Thank you, Judy. It’s simple to think about, but much harder to live that way each hour of every day.
Michael I found your blog following the link from vixytwix and it struck a chord with me too…thank you for posting this..Jane
Thank you for stopping by, Jane! Vixy is a sweetheart for doing that. I’m so glad you liked it. I’m going to check out your blog as well.
Short – but oh, so sweet! Awesome post!
Seldom do I use few words, so thank you, dude! Maybe I should do it more often.
perfect – just perfect !!
Thank you so much, Jo!
Beautiful!!
Life’s all pleasure lies in moments. Great thought Mj.
Loved It!
Arindam, thank you so much for your words of encouragement.
May you be able to turn over the hour-glass for another 59 seconds four another round
Oscar
That’s a great thought, Oscar!
So simple, but wonderful.
Thank you, Lorre. Means a lot coming from you!
Check out Vixytwix and her fabulous post! So very well-written.
